Steven Ball

Steven Ball born in 1979 near Wright, Michigan, studied carillon at the University of Utrecht and Dutch Carillon School in Amersfoort, The Netherlands, as well as the Royal Carillon School "Jef Denyn" in Mecheln, Belgium from 2002-2003. He is a faculty member of the Organ and Carillon Department of the University of Michigan, where he teaches the carillon, and he gives regular carillon concerts in the US and Europe. Dr. Ball is co-founder of the international corporation "Het Molenpad Expertise" which provides service in the arts of restoration, reconstruction, research, febrication, and maintenance of carillons, tower bells, and clockworks. He is also director of the Stearns Collection of Musical Instruments. He obtained a Bachelors of Music in Organ Performance in 2000, was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship in 2002 and a Doctoral Degrere in Music in 2008 from the University of Michigan. He is Cathedral Organist at the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral in Detroit and performs regularly as a theatre organist in the US and Europe.
