Jasper
Depraetere
Jasper Depraetere, born in 2000 in Lier,
Belgium, is deputy carillonneur of Lier,
Belgium. He studied the carillon at the
Municipal Academy of Lier from 2009 to 2018 and was awarded
his diploma in 2018 together with a medal from the city of
Lier for his exceptional performance during his final exam.
In 2013 he enrolled in the Royal Carillon School "Jef Denyn"
in Mecheln, Belgium where graduated with highest honors in
2018. He went on to study the carillon at the Luca School of
Arts in Louvain and received his Bachelors with highest honors in 2021.
He is currently working on his Masters degree. In
2015 won first prize at the International Youth Carillon
Competition in Deinze,
Belgium. In 2019 he won both the second prize and
the audience prize at the Queen Fabiola carillon
competition of the Royal Carillon
School "Jef Denyn" in Mecheln, Begium.
In 2016 he became president of the
Carillon Association of Lier. He
specializes in performing together with
other musicians and dancers and plays
concerts in various European countries
and the USA.
