Roy
Kroezen
Roy Kroezen, born
in 1967 in Enschede,
the Netherlands, is carillonneur of Centralia,
Illinois, USA. In 1996 he received his bachelors
and in 2008 his masters degree from the Dutch Carillon School in
Amersfoort. He also took carillon lessons at the Lemmens Institute in Louvain
and the Royal Carillon School "Jef Denyn" in Mecheln,
Belgium. He was city carillonneur of Arnhem, Hoogeveen, Huissen and Zwolle, won first prize at the carillon competition during the Pythian Games in Amsterdam
in 1995, second prize
at the
Rotterdam town hall carillon competition
in 1996 and third prize at
the Matthias Van den Gheyn competition
for carillon arrangements in
2021. As the carillonneur of Zwolle he and
the Zwolle Carillon Foundation organized two competitions
for carillon duos in 2007 and 2013 and a carillon
composition contest in 2015. He was the director of the music
committee of the Dutch Carillon Guild from 2011 to 2016.
He teaches carillon in Centralia and gives concerts in
Europe, Japan and the USA.
