Ray McLellan

Ray McLellan, born in 1958 in Dade City, Florida, USA, received his Bachelor of Arts in Music from Florida Southern College in Lakeland Florida in 1980. In 1982 he was awarded his Master of Music from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor where he received his doctorate as an organist in 1994. He began studying the carillon in 1989 at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and did a two-month course of studies at the Dutch Carillon School in Amersfoort in 1994. In 1997 he was appointed carillonneur at Michigan State University in East Lansing, where he gives regular concerts and teaches the carillon. McLellan is a carillonneur member of the Guild of Carillonneurs in North American and serves on its examination committee. He performs in the USA, France, Germany, Canada and the Netherlands and also works as organist and music director at the St. Michael Parish in Monroe and as organist and pianist at Temple Beth Emeth in Ann Arbor.
